Caroline Hood has been President and CEO of RS EDEN since January, 2020. As a licensed social worker in three states, she brings with her a background in service and a commitment to justice. Caroline began her career working with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals in the Maricopa County Jails in Phoenix, Arizona. In Los Angeles and San Francisco, she served individual with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders, in permanent housing settings. Later, she oversaw residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment programs in Lower Manhattan. Caroline received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Columbia University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Caroline moved to Minneapolis in 2016 to put down some roots.
Caroline lives in South Minneapolis with her husband, three young children, and two dogs.
Danielle Aune, Vice President, Clinical Care oversees all clinical programming, predominately the Recovery and Resiliency programs. Dani was previously the Supervisor of Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Services at United Hospital in St Paul. Dani oversaw the five programs in the United outpatient clinic for mental health, including Partial Hospitalization Programs for both adults and adolescents, as well as day treatment for adults and adolescents. Prior to that, Dani was the Clinical Director at Tasks Unlimited, a community-based company serving those with severe and persistent mental illness. Dani was responsible for the IRTS program, transitional housing, ARMHS program, training and development, as well as supplemental supervision of various clinicians. Dani has worked in various positions in both the Substance Use Disorder field and Mental Health field and is dually licensed as a LPCC and LADC. Dani completed her Bachelor of Art at University of Wisconsin-Madison in Psychology and Criminal Justice and her Master of Art in Addiction and Mental Health Counseling at Hazelden.
Jessie Johnson, Chief Operations Officer, is a 20+ year veteran with RS EDEN. She began her career as an intern in Reentry Programs and later worked in various roles within the Recovery programs before building the Asset and Property Management functions within RS EDEN’s newly developing Housing Portfolio. Jessie holds a Bachelors degree from Hamline University in Sociology and Women’s Studies, as well as a Master’s Degree in Non-Profit and Public Administration.
Vice President, Housing Stability & Services - Kim joined RS EDEN in 2020 with a focus on Data & Compliance within our Permanent Supportive Housing and Case Management program areas. Since then, that role has grown in scope and evolved to VP, Housing Stability & Services, which includes oversight of and partnership with the Leadership teams focused on Permanent Supportive Housing, Service Delivery and Programming and our Connection Centers (formerly Front Desks). Kim is a passionate advocate for equitable, high quality service delivery and participant experience, and incorporates two decades of experience working within the Twin Cities Homeless Response systems in roles that include Street-Based Outreach, Case Management, Program Management and Director of Housing, to her work with participants and staff teams.
Paul Puerzer, Chief Financial Officer, has been with RS EDEN since 2015. He has over 30 years of for-profit, nonprofit, public and private accounting experience. Prior to RS EDEN Paul was Chief Financial Officer for a 100+ year old Twin Cities based family office with national holdings in real estate, oil & gas, and radio broadcasting. He is a past board member of the Arc Minnesota, the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the College of St. Scholastica. He is a member of the Minnesota CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Paul has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Albany and a M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.
Sara Theophilos, Vice President, People for RS EDEN, leads all human resources policies, programs, and services. Her areas of responsibility include employment, compensation, employee relations, health and welfare, organization development and learning, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Joining RS EDEN in September 2020, she has been instrumental in integrating human resources initiatives into the strategic goals of the organization. Sara has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources Management and holds a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.
